FAQ

Coaching provides you with a supportive and safe space to explore what’s going on in your life and what you want to change. During a session, you can express the wishes you have for your life and what it is you want to achieve. Coaching will equip you with new skills that will help you to design the life you want to live.

My clients are mostly entrepreneurs and creatives, but people who are on a different career path can also benefit from this.

During each session, we will have a conversation and I will ask you a lot of questions. Initially, we will explore where you are now, where you want to be and what’s standing in the way. During follow-on sessions, we will also recap what happened for you during the last session and look at your general progress.
We will then discuss the next steps you want to take to move closer to your goal by exploring all the possible options that might get you there. Using different techniques and tools we will then develop a plan and look at what actions you want to take to achieve your goals.

Sessions are usually 60 minutes. You can also book a 90-minute power session.

Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly. As long as it suits your life and fits into my schedule, we can work it out.
In my experience, one week often isn’t long enough to absorb the lessons and information that have come up during a session. A two-week interval tends to give you the necessary space to do that. But really, it’s up to you. You should just make sure that you have time to reflect on what you have learned between the sessions.

This depends on what you want to achieve with your coaching. Most people come with a particular challenge or goal in mind. For some people, resolving that challenge or achieving that goal may take six sessions. Others might take longer. It is a very personal decision based on your individual goal, your commitment and openness to change, your circumstances and other factors.

You can choose to end the coaching process at any time, that decision is up to you. Please give me two weeks’ notice so I can prepare a final session for closure.

Most of my clients choose face to face coaching which takes place in my studio in the centre of Amsterdam. It is a quiet space with no distractions where you can focus on the conversation.
If you struggle to fit in-person sessions into a busy schedule or are not located in Amsterdam, we can also arrange a session via Zoom. For online sessions, it’s best if you can find a time and place where you won’t be interrupted during our conversation and can talk in private.

To get the most out of the coaching process you need to have a positive attitude, trust and be honest within the coaching relationship. You need to be engaged in the process, be opened to talk and to

I will provide you with a safe space and I will bring trust and honesty to the coaching relationship. I will listen to you and ask questions that will help you to expand your thinking. I will also challenge you to create the change you wish to see in your life and support you in this explorative process. Lastly, I will assist you with making an action plan and guide you as you begin to move forward.

You will decide what you want to talk about. I won’t press you to talk about anything that you are not comfortable sharing.

If you suffer from trauma that is recent or too intense or if you are dealing with a shocking event with lasting impact, you should contact a therapist. Coaches are not trained in this field. Therapy can help you look into emotional resolutions to past problems to move forward. The focus thereby is on healing the past and gaining insights by understanding the why.

While you are working with a therapist it is possible to work with a coach at the same time. While therapy is more coping-oriented, the coaching process is more goal-oriented and can support you in achieving your goals, stepping out of your comfort zone, and taking action.

Yes, you can! Many clients change in different and powerful ways. Coaching can be the catalyst to real change in your life, career, and other fields.

No, I’m working in a non-directive coaching approach which means I’m not going to tell you what to do, but I will provide you with the support, perspective, and tools you need to figure that out for yourself.

We can certainly discuss your requirements and come to a mutually agreed solution.
