This is an ongoing collaboration I am working on with Ecodam on a neighborhood project in Amsterdam Oost, where sustainability, circular thinking, and creativity come together.
Local residents got hands-on experience making beautiful tiles from recycled plastic and ceramic.
Ecodam guided participants in creating colorful wall tiles from plastic collected in the neighborhood. They demonstrated how to prepare, grind, and press the plastic into tile molds while teaching about sustainability and circularity. I (Kesemy Design) led the clay tile-making workshop using recycled clay. Participants personalized their tiles with textures, plants from the area, or objects brought from home. This process captured the community’s unique stories, making each tile truly special.
We will create wall coverings for dNM project with the tiles. This project aims to teach residents of all ages about recycling and the creative possibilities of using reclaimed materials. It’s a hands-on way to explore sustainability, education, and creativity.
