This collection of small objects continues my exploration of knots and weaving clay fibers. It examines the possibilities of working with clay through ‘strings’ and coils that test the material’s limits. It involves manipulating the clay’s flexibility and strength while holding its shape, a challenging and exciting process that pushes the material to its limits and uncovers new creative possibilities. The clay is rotated, wound, bent, and shaped into fluid designs through playful forms. It’s about movement, flexibility, twists, turns, and evolution into unique, expressive forms. This collection shows how versatile clay can be: light, curvy, thin, and strong.
Mixed techniques: Hand building, slip casting, Marbling, Nerikomi. Earthenware and slip-casting clay, Ceramic Glaze. Photography and Styling by Kesem Yahav Designed and produced by Kesem Yahav at the Kesemy Design studio in Amsterdam.
