This is a collaboration with Oy Vey Amsterdam.
The Uilenburgersjoel is a shul (synagogue) in the oudeschans in Amsterdam (400 meters from my studio) from 1766 which was restored in 2015 and is now home to Oy Vey Amsterdam. This handmade tiny miniature is very Dutch, very Mokum and very Jewish at the same time.
The miniature is designed and produced by Kesemy design in Amsterdam.
A bit about the process: we created a 3D prototype in a 3D printer, to this prototype I created a plaster mold and casted it from clay in my studio. I baked and glazed the pieces and final stage was to decal them with the print of the building.
Handmade piece
All pieces are handmade, meaning that each one is slightly different.
