Outdoor Clay Workshop, Flevopark, Amsterdam Oost: Exploring Nature’s Textures

Join us in the park for a hands-on workshop crafting clay pots with natural textures.

We’ll pinch clay and use elements from nature to design unique textures on our pots.

Working with clay is peaceful, and doing it outside can be incredibly soothing. Spend time in the sun with us, getting creative with what nature offers.

You’ll be amazed at the stunning textures you can create using just a few simple pieces of wood and branches.

During the workshop, each person will craft two pinch pot bowls using only their hands and textures found outside, without any tools. 

I will guide and teach you how to pinch pot beautiful clay bowls, walking you through the process of creating textures every step of the way.

Afterward, I’ll fire and glaze the pieces in my kiln. They’ll be ready for pickup in 2 weeks.

What can you make?

What’s included in the price?

The Clay, my natural tools, transparent glaze, underglaze colors if needed, two firing to finish your object.

-This workshop is for adults

-The workshop is in English.

-No need to bring special clothes.

-For all levels. The workshop is intended for beginners but is also suitable for the more experienced.

-Please arrive on time or a little earlier, as it may take some time to find the location in the park.

-I strongly encourage you to register, as the class size is limited to 10 people per class.

-Bring your bottle of water or your favorite drink.

Meet your instructor

Hey there, I’m Kesem! 

As a ceramic designer and a Life and Creative Coach, I’ve worked with various clay techniques for the past 20 years, developing a deep understanding of this beautiful medium. Running my clay studio here in Amsterdam, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching countless workshops and hosting fun events for groups. From team-building sessions to party workshops, I’ve done it all! 

I can’t wait to welcome you to my studio and share my passion for Clay and creativity.

Group size: 8-10 people

Duration: 2 hours

Location:

The workshop will take place at a spot in Flevopark, Amsterdam Oost. Coming from Javastraat, head straight into the park through the main entrance. After entering, turn right—we’ll be near the water and the water tap point. I will provide The exact location beforehand.

Tram:

• Line 3: Stops at Flevopark, approximately a 7-minute walk from the park entrance. ​
• Line 14: Stops at Javaplein, about an 18-minute walk to the park. ​

Bus:

• Line 37: Stops at Javalaan, which is very close to the park entrance. ​
• Lines 22, 44, 65, N89: Also have routes passing near Flevopark. ​

Train:

• Sprinter (SPR): Stops at Amsterdam Science Park, about a 20-minute walk to Flevopark. ​

Cost

The price for the 2 hour workshop is 49 euros, including all materials.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained if you notify us eight days before class begins.

The fee is transferable to another workshop if you inform us eight days before class begins.

No refund or transfer if you give no notice (‘no show’).
