Geef je vogelhuisje een plekje buiten en help de stadsvogels aan een veilig thuis!

In deze workshop kunnen buurtbewoners van Amsterdam (12 jaar en ouder) hun eigen keramische vogelhuisjes maken. De workshop is in het Nederlands en Engels.

Wat gaan we doen?

• We leren over vogelhuisjes en hun belang voor vogels in de stad.
• Er wordt een demonstratie gegeven van de handbouwtechniek.
• Deelnemers maken hun vogelhuisje met gerecyclede klei.
• Daarna schilderen en kleuren ze hun huisje met keramische pigmenten.
• Aan het einde laten we de huisjes drogen in de studio.
• Na een week worden ze voor de eerste keer gebakken.
• Daarna worden ze geglazuurd en opnieuw gebakken.
• Na 2-3 weken zijn de vogelhuisjes waterdicht en klaar om op te halen.

Waarom is dit belangrijk?

Deze workshop stimuleert duurzaamheid, biodiversiteit, creativiteit en gemeenschapsgevoel. De vogelhuisjes helpen stadsvogels en maken de buurt groener. Het is een leuke, creatieve activiteit zonder schermen, die mensen samenbrengt.

Inwoners van Amsterdam van 12 jaar en ouder.

Workshopschema (één dag):

• Workshop #1: 10:00 – 12:00
• Workshop #2: 13:00 – 15:00
• Workshop #3: 16:00 – 18:00

Wat ga je maken?
Eén vogelhuisje van klei.

• De workshop is in het Engels en Nederlands.

• Je hoeft geen speciale kleding mee te nemen.

• Voor alle niveaus: beginners én mensen met ervaring zijn welkom.

• Kom op tijd, of ietsje eerder.

• Meld je van tevoren aan – er is plek voor maximaal 9 mensen per workshop.

• Ik zorg voor een ontspannen en fijne sfeer.

Hoi! Ik ben Kesem. Als keramiekontwerper en Life & Creative Coach werk ik al 20 jaar met verschillende kleitechnieken. In mijn atelier in Amsterdam geef ik met veel plezier workshops en organiseer ik creatieve groepsactiviteiten, zoals teamuitjes en feestjes.

Ik kijk ernaar uit om je te verwelkomen in mijn studio en mijn liefde voor klei en creativiteit met je te delen.

Give your birdhouse a home outdoors and help city birds find a safe place to nest!

In this workshop, residents of Amsterdam (ages 12 and up) can create their ceramic birdhouses.

The workshop will be held in both Dutch and English.

What will we do?

• We’ll learn about birdhouses and their importance for urban birds.
• I will give a demonstration of hand-building techniques.
• Participants will build their birdhouses using recycled clay.
• Then, they’ll paint and decorate them with ceramic pigments.
• At the end of the session, we’ll leave the houses to dry in the studio.
• After one week, they will be fired for the first time.
• Then, they will be glazed and fired again.
• After 2–3 weeks, the birdhouses will be waterproof and ready for pickup.

Why is this important?

This workshop promotes sustainability, biodiversity, creativity, and a sense of community. The birdhouses support city birds and help make the neighborhood greener. It’s a fun, hands-on, screen-free activity that brings people together.

Residents aged 12 and above in Amsterdam.

What can you make? 

One clay bird house

-The workshop is in English and Dutch.

-No need to bring special clothes.

-For all levels. The workshop is intended for beginners but is also suitable for the more experienced.

-Please be on time or a bit before

-I strongly encourage you to register, as the class size is limited to 9 people per class.

-I offer a relaxed and supportive environment.

Meet your instructor

Hey there, I’m Kesem! As a ceramic designer and a Life and Creative Coach, I’ve worked with various clay techniques for the past 20 years, developing a deep understanding of this beautiful medium. Running my clay studio here in Amsterdam, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching countless workshops and hosting fun events for groups. From team-building sessions to party workshops, I’ve done it all! 

I can’t wait to welcome you to my studio and share my passion for Clay and creativity.
