Join us for a free creative workshops at Buurtcentrum De Boomsspijker in Amsterdam City Center!
Help create recycled artwork using plastic and clay, and celebrate Mother’s Day with family-friendly activities.
On Sunday, May 11, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, there will be two free creative workshops for all ages at Buurtcentrum De Boomsspijker (behind my studio) located in the heart of Amsterdam City Center. Join us and celebrate Mother’s Day by creating something fun and meaningful for the planet!
In the Plastic Lab of Ecodam, participants will make colorful tiles from recycled plastic. Collect plastic and bring it to De Boomsspijker or drop it off beforehand (see the list in the images for the types of plastic we can use).
In the second workshop, led by ceramic artist Kesem Yahav from Kesemy Design, participants will create their tile from leftover clay. Bring an item from home, such as a leaf, fabric, or any object with texture, and press it into the clay to create a unique pattern.
This circular and sustainable neighborhood project allows the residents of Amsterdam City Center to take part in a creative workshop where sustainability, education, and art come together.
The personal tiles created during these workshops will be used as a circular artwork in the public spaces of Buurtcentrum De Boomsspijker, making it accessible to everyone in the neighborhood. It’s a beautiful way to bring together old and new memories!
