For many years, I’ve been working with fractures, becoming fascinated by the shapes they reveal. Fractures expose the material’s inner content, highlighting the beauty in broken, damaged, and imperfect forms.
I love the unpredictable shapes that appear and the contrast of roughness against delicate clay.
In this project, I’ve combined techniques like marbling and Nerikomi and blending materials and methods to create rich textures and unique forms.
Mixed techniques: Hand building, slip casting, Marbling, Nerikomi.
Earthenware and slip-casting clay, Ceramic Glaze.
