The Branch Collection is a series of ceramic vessels, each created by hand on the potter’s wheel in my studio. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted, requiring time and careful attention. The collection features unique branch handles inspired by Amsterdam’s winter forest (Amsterdamse Bos) landscapes. I gather these branches from forests and beaches during my travels worldwide. Each branch is carefully selected, peeled, and sanded until smooth. I then create a uniquely shaped vessel on the wheel that works harmoniously with the branch.
These pieces serve as simple reminders of nature, harmoniously blending ceramic’s “cold” texture with the warmth of wood—capturing the essence of a winter forest or sun-drenched beach.
