Join me for a one-on-one, 5-session course on the potter’s wheel!

Explore, experiment, and learn the art of wheel throwing in a relaxed and supportive environment. This personalized Intro course is perfect for diving into ceramics while enjoying a hands-on, creative experience.

With plenty of one-on-one guidance, you’ll feel confident, inspired, and free to express yourself through clay.

During our session, I’ll guide you through the basics of throwing clay on the potter’s wheel, from wedging to centering, opening, pulling up, and learning to create basic shapes.

I’ll explain trimming, surface decoration, the use of tools, and the firing and glazing processes.

This course focuses not only on technique but also on self-expression and discovering and using your creativity.

What you’ll learn:

• Basics of wheel throwing: wedging, centering, opening, pulling up, shaping and designing.
• Trimming your pieces
• Decoration, using underglaze colors and glazing

Included:

• 5 sessions (2 hours each)
• Clay (recycled), underglaze colors, and glaze
• use of tools
• Firing and glazing for up to 6 pieces

March 14, 21, 28 

April 4, 11 (glazing session)

• 10:30 – 12:30

• 15:30 – 17:30

Good to Know:

• Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, an apron will be provided.
• Long fingernails can make working with clay a bit challenging.

 Meet your instructor:

Hey there, I’m Kesem! 

As a ceramic designer and a Life and Creative Coach, I’ve worked with various clay techniques for the past 20 years, developing a deep understanding of this beautiful medium. Running my clay studio here in Amsterdam, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching countless workshops and hosting fun events for groups. From team-building sessions to party workshops, I’ve done it all! 

Wheel throwing is a practice that connects both body and mind, allowing you to learn how to connect with your body and gain insight into yourself through the process.

With over 20 years of experience working with clay, I bring not only technical expertise but also my background as a creativity coach and my work in Clay Field (clay therapy) to guide you in your artistic journey.

I can’t wait to welcome you to my studio and share my passion for Clay and creativity.

Cancellation Policy:

As this course is personalized, I’m unable to offer refunds.

However, if you can’t make a session, I’ll happily work with you to find another time that fits your schedule.

100 meters from Nieuwmarkt Metro station and a 10 min walk from the Central station.

Nieuwmarkt Metro station- lines 51, 53, and 54 have a stop at this station.
