Project Squaround is a coffee and dessert dish set featuring two series: round and square. Developed together, these designs complement each other with unique points of connection. The project started with a look into the cultural history of serving dishes, designing beyond function, and inviting play and interaction. The set explores touch and texture, stacking and assembling, and the interplay between square and round forms, with color enhancing each shape. Inspired by the coffee culture and the art of serving, each piece in the set is crafted from ceramic with a clear glaze and original decal designs. Both series contain 18 minimalist aesthetic pieces combined to create a refined, clean look.
Kesem Yahav designed and produced all 36 pieces of the set, handling each step from design to creating plaster molds, slip casting, glazing, and applying decals. Materials: Slip-casting clay, ceramic glaze, and decals.
